The Washington Post’s “The Trail” reports on John McCain’s latest “joke” on Iran:
Responding to a question about a survey that shows increased exports to Iran, mainly from cigarettes, McCain said, “Maybe that’s a way of killing them.”
Not only is this comment in bad taste, but it’s a strategic blunder. We have issues with the Iranian government, not its people. Talking about killing Iranians is not winning any hearts or minds.

Wow. I have to admit that when I read the title, a part of me assumed that it would be a more indirect “joke”. I wonder if McCain craved a cigarrette during the 10 seconds immediately after he let that sound bite slip!
